"Sometimes life brings you full circle to a place you have been before just to show you how much you have grown." I'm not sure who said that, but it sure fits my journey here at Holt.

My journey began 20 years ago when I was brought in for a 3-day temporary assignment to "answer phones" in the Earthmoving Service Department. That was all the assignment was to encompass, answering phones.

That first day I was greeted by David Mott. Now for those who have worked with David, I needn't say more. For those who have not had the distinct pleasure, for someone to sit and wait for the phone to ring, that would never do. By the end of those three days I was pretty much doing 99% of the duties performed by a Service Coordinator. On my last day, David approached me to let me know that there may be a full-time position opening up in the near future, and to see if I would be interested. Heck yeah I was interested. I gave him my phone number and anxiously waited to hear from Holt.

In the meantime, I had applied and completed testing for the USPS. I was accelerated in the hiring process as I was a veteran, and was waiting to hear back from them as well. Holt beat them to the punch by a week and I was called in to interview with the General Service Manager at that time. I use the term "interview" loosely as this was more of a formality. David had told them they needed to hire me, and that was that. I accepted the position and I can honestly say I've never regretted my decision to work for this amazing company.
I spent 10 years in the Earthmoving Service Department, moving on to the CSA Coordinator position and eventually the CSA Supervisor. I worked with some really great people in that time and have forged relationships that will last a lifetime. I met and married my wonderful husband, Bob Winslow, who incidentally had also been hired by David Mott 23 years prior. In those days I worked with a fresh-faced 16-year old girl named Michelle, but more about her later. After 10 years I needed a change, and accepted a position as Marketing Coordinator.

After being in my little Earthmoving bubble for so long, it was quite an adjustment, not to mention a learning curve when I moved to the Marketing Department. I had to familiarize myself with everything Holt has to offer. Fortunately, I had some really great mentors in Kimberly Romberger and Kim Lightfoot. I loved working in Marketing, as I had the opportunity to travel to each facility (with the exception of Redding) and was able to meet so many employees across the company. My creative side was unleashed and I thoroughly enjoyed the nine years I spent in Marketing.

But alas, all good things must come to an end, and when the Marketing Department was moved to Pleasant Grove, in the Fall of 2014 I accepted a position with The Cat Rental Store Stockton as a Service Coordinator. And remember that fresh-faced 16-year old girl, well today she's my supervisor. Things have come full circle for me, and I fully intend for this to be my last stop on this amazing ride. I wouldn't change a minute of my time here at Holt. I have met some of the most extraordinary people I have ever had the privilege of working with. Some of them are no longer with us, and the rest continue to get up every morning and come to work for this awesome company. It is a testament to Holt of California's legacy in having so many dedicated long standing employees.
