Kings Arena Breaks Ground with Help from Granite Construction

Granite Construction has been a customer with Holt of California since opening its Sacramento branch in 1955. Recently, Granite was awarded a sub-contract from Turner Construction, for the excavation portion of the new Sacramento Kings Arena Project, in downtown Sacramento.  

Granite Construction was hired to remove 110,000 cubic yards of material from the Kings Stadium job site. John DeSilva, Dirt Supervisor for Granite Construction, stated that he and his crew had been working 12-hour shifts, 6 days a week to maintain their tight deadline. "We're here rain, shine, wind or mud, till the job is done. Oustide of safety, production is our number one priority; this is why we like working with Holt of California so much. They provide the service and quality products we need to get the job done. We rely on our machines to help us get our job done in a timely and efficient manner."

Rule 4702 INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES

Upcoming deadline for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Certified Compression-Ignited (Diesel)
Engines

This rule requires all Tier 1 and Tier 2 certified compression-ignited engines rated at >50 bhp to
comply with EPA Tier 4 Emission Limits/Standards.

  • You must replace your Tier 1 and Tier 2 certified engines with Tier 4 engines no later than January 1, 2015, or 12 years after installation, but not later than June 1, 2018.
  • Any replacement engine must meet the certified compression-ignited engine standards at the time of the installation. The current requirement is Tier 4 Interim certification.
  • District Permit Exempt Equipment Registrations (PEERs) or Authority to Construct (ATC) permits are required for the replacement of engines. The PEER or ATC permit applications are due 3 months and 6 months, respectively, before the existing engine's replacement deadline. Please utilize the District's SBA hotlines for more information on which applications you need to submit.

CLAAS reflects on first 100 years of innovations
