Part of what is required with your ThinkBIG application are three letters of recommendation. These letters should be statements that address things about you, such as why ThinkBIG is a good career path for you; your work ethic, character, related work experience, leadership roles or other areas in which you have excelled.
The letters need to be written by three people with different perspectives on you, such as:
- Current/Former Teacher(s) or someone who has instructed you
- Current/Previous Employer(s), whether you worked for wages or as a volunteer
- School or club counselor, administrator or adviser
- Any other person of your choosing like a family member, neighbor, co-worker, etc.
You can also download a copy of our Letter of Recommendation form for use if you find it difficult getting people to respond to your requests for a letter. Please note that you do not have to submit both a form and a letter for each Letter of Recommendation.
If available, a business card of the reference is appreciated, so please include it with the Letter’s submission.
