The Challenger MT400B Series of tractors provide more toque, control and serviceability features as well as more fuel left at the end of the day. Powered by Cat diesel engines, the MT400B Series provides outstanding power and reliability, increased fuel efficiency and decreased noise levels. Plus, these engines include the latest Tier III technology for lower emissions.

The versatile and reliable AutoPower IV transmission combines four ranges and four powershifts, and is easily the most simple 16 x16 semi-powershift transmission in the market. A special T-handle is simply pulsed forward or backward to make sequential shifts through the ranges and powershifts, without clutching.

Located to the left side of the steering column of the MT400B Series tractors is the three-function shuttle lever. This lever provides convenient fingertip control of forward and reverse shuttling, powershift changes and declutching. A rotary dial, located on the right-hand console, allows the operator r adjust the intensity of the shuttle engagement to match application needs and preferences.

The Challenger MT400B series of tractors provides an operator with plenty of comfort, control, roominess and visibility, all designed to improve both operator efficiency and productivity. A fully-adjustable spring suspension seat comes as standard equipment, while cab models feature an optional air-ride swivel seat with armrests as well as an instructor seat. All major tractor and implement controls on the MT400B series are conveniently located on the right-hand control console and was designed for maximum productivity and minimal fatigue.

Offered as an option, the mechanical cab suspension system uses silent block bushes at the front of the cab and a pair of spring-assisted shock absorbers mounted at the rear, while dampening is further provided in three dimensions with a panhard rod for lateral stability.

All models of the MT400B series have a narrow, sloping hood and either an A-post mounted exhaust or optional down-swept exhaust for 4-cylinder models.
