The Willmar S-500 offers the versatility to adapt to nearly any situation with up to 12 wheel track options. For driving the spinner system, you can choose one of two different PTO drives or the optional 8-horsepower engine, adding to the versatility of this spreader. The S-500 is also available in single or dual spinner configurations.

The single spinner configuration has 65 foot total spread pattern width that uses a single-pass, flat-type pattern while the dual spinner model is available with 40- or 50-foot spinners to deliver an 80- or 100-foot spread using a 100 percent overlap, pyramid-style spread pattern. The flat-type spread pattern of the single spinner configuration helps cut down the number of passes across a field as a more economical option.

You can control application rates in both low and high ranges, from 524 to 1045 pounds of material per acre, with a two-sped conveyor. You can meter material flow by moving the hand lever to align with the corresponding gate opening number. The stainless steel gate on the S-500 moves freely without binding or freezing up. You can accommodate variations in material density, weight and size with a front- to rear-adjustable baffle plate, which allows you to determine flow.

The multi-leaf, spring suspension system of the S-500 is positioned on both sides of each axles to reduce bounce and improve stability, while lighting and reflective devices meet ASAE S279 lighting and marking requirements for on-road travel.

This spreader is built to last. Conveyor and ground-drive chains are made with stainless steel while the frames are made of channel steel with reinforcements. The hopper and skid are constructed from 12-guard stainless steel. Then, the S-500 is finished with a high-performance, chemical-resistant, epoxy-based, rust-inhibiting primer and a super-tough, acrylic urethane combination for corrosion-resistance to help protect and extend the life of these spreaders, while a corrosion-resistant phenolic flooring helps to facilitate smooth material flow without buildup from under the conveyor chain.
