On-Highway Products

Caterpillar and Holt have participated in the on-highway market for more than 40 years.

Caterpillar & Holt of California continue to support truck engines plus offer complete truck service. Holt of California is pleased to announce that we are enhancing our truck engine repair shops to total on-highway truck repair shops for all truck brands. We are training our techs, acquiring parts, improving our tooling and technical information that will enable us to be a quality supplier of complete truck parts and service.

As we transition to a complete truck supplier, we want to reassure all of our existing customers that Cat and Holt will ensure you, our customer, will continue to receive the best product support in industry for the 1.6 million Cat powered trucks currently in use in North America. This includes our commitment to supporting our TEPS dealers as authorized Cat Truck Engine dealers for legacy parts and warranty support. Cat has the best reputation in the industry for suppporting the legacy product, offering parts and service for many decades into the future and Holt will continue to provide warranty, service and parts for Cat on-highway truck engine customers.

Yes, as you may have heard... Caterpillar has decided that effective January 2010, they will no longer supply new on-highway engines for use in the United States (EPA 2010 emissions ratings). As all of the truck OEM's have announced plans to offer their own diesel engines by 2010. Cat's embraced this opportunity for a new approach to the on-highway truck business.

Through an alliance with Navistar, Cat plans to introduce Cat on-highway heavy duty vocational trucks in North America in 2010. These trucks will be Cat trucks, exclusively available through the Cat Dealer network for sales, parts and warranty. The Cat on-highway truck will use a combination of Cat and Navistar power train components and will not use SCR (selective Catalytic Reduction) for reducing emissions.

This is another exciting change with our particpation in the on-highway business. We are looking forward to continuing our relationships with you, our many customers, providing you the Cat products and support for years to come.
